BIO

Darren Sng is an award winning composer, conductor, and orchestrator. His work spans various genres of film, television, and games. Having been occasionally talked out of writing overly-ambitious music in his earlier years, he remains ironically driven by a stubborn urge to challenge musical conventions in extreme yet meaningful ways.

His recent composing work include the scores to the BAFTA longlisted films 'When The Tide Comes', and
'Orchids: Darwin's Conundrum' (also nominated at the NaturVision Film Festival), 'Old School' which was selected for the BIFA qualifying London Short Film Festival, , alongside 'Bitter Cells' (DMZ International Film Festival), 'Subject 73' (Glasgow Film Festival), and 'The Blue Faraway' which was selected for the Oscar qualifying In The Palace Film Festival.

As an orchestrator and conductor, Darren has worked on projects including the feature length film 'Mad Bills To Pay' which premiered at Sundance Film Festival, and live performances including Matthew Herbert's 'A Fantastic Woman' performed at the Barbican Centre. Darren has recorded and conducted music at venues including LSO St. Lukes, and Air Studios.

Darren is an MA Graduate of the National Film and Television School, where he received the AVID Award For Excellence In Composition.
